What metal finishing services do you offer?

Our metal plating and finishing services include anodizing, chemical film conversion, electroless nickel plating, passivation, phosphate conversion coating, solid film lubrication, and zinc plating. See more about our metal plating services.

What types of metals do you work with?

The types of materials we can finish depends on the process you request. The most common materials we work with are aluminum, aluminum alloys, brass, copper, iron, steel, stainless steel, and other alloys. If you have a substrate that’s not listed, contact us so we can talk about how our processes might work with it.

Do you provide any additional services?

Yes, we offer a variety of additional services to metal subassemblies. These include baking, blasting, bright dips, CARC painting, etching, and pickling. With these value-added services, you can view K&L Plating as your single source for all your metal finishing needs.

What specifications do you meet?

Our metal plating & finishing services can meet any military or industry specification you require. We have a list of common specifications our services meet. In addition to MIL specs, our plating services are compliant with ISO, RoHS, and WEEE standards. We also have two NADCAP certifications NADCAP AC7004 (Quality System Accreditation) and NADCAP AC7108 (Chemical Processing Accreditation).

What does your quality control process look like?

All our treatments and finishing processes go through rigorous testing to assure quality. The finished product will meet or exceed the minimum specified standards and tolerances. When requested, we can also provide certification in writing with your order.

Are you an approved supplier?

Yes, we are a Nadcap-certified supplier for some of the nation’s largest aerospace manufacturers and defense contractors.

What does the quoting process look like?

The quoting process depends on where you are in your project. If you are in the early stages of your project, we can help; our team can provide assistance with the R&D or engineering components and finding the right treatment and specifications to meet your needs. If the engineering is complete and you just need a quote, we can usually get you one the same day or next day. Contact us and let us know what you need to start the quoting process.

Where are you located?

K&L Plating has two locations in central Pennsylvania. Our headquarters and plating facility is in Lancaster, PA. We recently acquired a larger facility in Huntingdon, PA, which greatly expands our production capacity. From these two locations, we serve manufacturers throughout the Mid-Atlantic states, including Baltimore, northern Virginia, Philadelphia, Long Island, and the Southern Tier of NY.
