Shipping & Ordering Logistics

On this page, you’ll find everything you need to know about how to send us your order, what to include with your shipment, and how to handle the return process for your order. Our goal is to keep your production moving with as little downtime as possible.

Shipping

Most of our customers rely on freight shipping through FedEx/UPS or common carrier for their projects, but we do offer local pickup/delivery for customers within 50 miles of our Lancaster, PA facility or Huntingdon, PA facility.

Here are a few details about our logistics:

  1. Local Pickup & Delivery:
  2. If you’re within our service area, we can offer local pickup and delivery. Cost for local pick up or delivery is determined by the physical location and the volumes of work we are transporting. We strive to pick up and return your parts on schedule, so your production stays on track.

  3. Packaging
  4. Whatever method of transportation you choose, your material will be returned in the same shipping container with the same packing material that it was received with. Please ensure that the shipping materials being used are rigid enough to protect your parts for the return shipment. If packaging is received in less than good condition you will be notified by a representative of K&L.

Unless specific shipping instructions are provided, K&L will return ship using the same container and packaging material.

  5. Freight Shipping (FedEx, UPS, Trucking)
  6. For customers outside our local area, most choose FedEx or UPS to ship their parts to us. If you prefer a trucking company, simply provide us with a Bill of Lading (BOL). Whichever carrier you use, here’s what to remember:

    • Ship to the Correct Facility: Please coordinate with your sales representative to ensure parts are being shipped to the correct location.
    • Labeling: Clearly mark the package with “K&L Plating, Attn: [Your Name/PO#]” and include our address (524 E. Mifflin St., Lancaster, PA 17602) or (10210 Fairgrounds Rd. Huntingdon, PA 16652).
    • Packing List: Include a packing list and/or P.O.
    • Purchase Order: Email us a digital copy of your purchase order when you ship. That lets us review your P.O. for accuracy and match incoming parts with your order.

  7. What Happens When Your Parts Arrive
  8. As soon as your shipment reaches our dock, we’ll inspect it against your packing list or P.O. We’ll contact you if there are any discrepancies.

  9. Returning Your Finished Parts
  10. We’ll notify you once your purchase order is complete (unless local delivery has already been arranged). It is your responsibility to arrange return shipping. We will require either a return BOL or shipping labels (UPS, FedEx, etc). If you provide your UPS account number, we can ship parts UPS collect to your account, if required.
